Events
At Wee Binnian Walkers we’re known for friendliness and hospitality and we like to finish off our days on the hills with a get-together whether that be in a local pub and/or coffee shop. Running alongside this element of sociability is an active events programme which sees an annual walking festival, standalone social events and trips. Check links below, for further information and details.
Wee Binnian Walking Festival
As part of the Newry 850 celebrations, in 1994, the first Wee Binnian walking festival took place. Every year since, on the second weekend in September, the club has run this very successful event. The festival offers a variety of graded walks to suit all abilities with the social highlight of weekend being the popular ‘Blister Boogie’.
Social Events
The Club’s Christmas ‘get together’, after one of our winter walks, is a very popular event and 2023 saw the return of our summer barbeque.
Trips
In addition to Sunday walks the club organises two weekends away, each year, to other parts of Ireland, Scotland, England or Wales.
